Care, Condition and Compliance

Three questions need their own evidence.

Independent educational journal · October 7, 2026

An empty sunlit activity corner with wooden blocks, blank drawing paper and baskets; a fictional illustration.

A useful distinction

Care describes how an item is maintained; condition describes what is observed; compliance concerns applicable requirements. A successful wash does not prove compliance, and a condition photograph does not replace a product’s instructions or records.

Put it into practice

Create separate headings for the three questions in a fictional item record. Write only established information under each, marking unknowns. This simple separation helps prevent a confident description in one category from being misread as an assurance in all the others.
