A useful distinction
A care label addresses the product’s materials and construction in the manufacturer’s stated context. Instructions from another garment may not apply to its trim, finish or components. The complete label is a better starting point than a general washing tip.
Put it into practice
Read the garment’s own instructions and retain them with its record. If the label is missing or unclear, seek appropriate information rather than assigning a universal method. This journal does not prescribe detergent, temperature or treatment for an unidentified textile.
